Johann Joachim Quantz (1679-1773), Oboist, Flötist und Komponist, ist vor allem als Flötenlehrer Friedrichs des Großen bekannt. Darüberhinaus ist sein `Versuch einer Anweisung die Flöte traversière zu spielen` bis heute ein Standardwerk der Flötenliteratur und ein wichtiges Zeitdokument zur damaligen Musizierpraxis. Vorliegende Neuausgabe, die die alte Ausgabe ZM 10950 ersetzt, beruht auf den zeitgenössischen handschriftlichen Einzelstimmen, die in der Sächsischen Landesbibliothek Dresden aufbewahrt werden. Die Aussetzung des Generalbasses - nach der bezifferten Bass-Stimme - wurde vom Herausgeber vorgenommen // Johann Joachim Quantz (1679-1773), oboe player, flutist and composer, has above all become famous for being Frederick the Great s flute instructor. Apart from that, his work `Attempt to teach how to play the flute traversière` has become not only a standard repertoire for flute literature but also an important document which shows how music was practised in former times. The edition presented here which replaces the old edition with the number ZM10950 is based on the contemporary handwritten solo part kept at the Saxon State Library in Dresden. The realisation of the basso continuo - according to the figured bass - was done by the editor
