This book is intended for elementary school children (or a music school or conservatory) addressing for the first time a collective instrumental practice. It is the result of ten years of school practice at the Urban School Le Verrier de Nantes. The content of this method, based on imitation learning, is aimed at teachers of arts education, school teachers and musicians involved in schools. This first series is dedicated to brass instruments (horn, trumpet, trombone and tuba) and percussions. The method consists of a book for the teacher and 10 posters (2 posters on the breathing of the orchestra and the production of sound and 8 posters around the interpretation of the repertoire). The pedagogy put into action within the group accompanies each child in his learning: it allows him to acquire the instrumental bases necessary for instrumental play while developing his individual and collective listening skills. In addition, this approach allows everyone to enhance their acquisitions through regular participation in the concerts of the band and this, from the first months of activity! Urbain's band Book 1 is a new tool for all actors working for the development of artistic education.
