The two Rapsodies op. 79, two passionate and large pieces, appeared around ten years before Brahms composed his late and melancholy piano pieces. It is through one of his usual understatements that he announces to a recovering Clara Schumann two rooms "with which you can let off steam and also check if the treatment has been useful to you". But let's leave the floor to Elisabeth von Herzogenberg, another friend of Brahms: "the piece in G minor is my favorite, but I am not insensitive to the powerful and biting beauty of the piece in B minor". We are now releasing a revised version of these two popular pieces based on the new full edition of Brahms' works.
