Between 1895 and 1903, Jean Sibelius composed ten piano pieces which, after their first publication, were taken over by Breitkopf-Härtel and combined as Opus 24. This opus includes the most popular piano pieces often played by Sibelius in the style of nationalist romanticism.
Romance is the ninth piece of the cycle and was composed in 1901 as a Christmas present for one of the composer's friends.
This new edition incorporates the music text published in volume V / 1 of the complete edition of "Works of Jean Sibelius", based in turn on an in-depth comparison with the first copy of 1902. 8 pages
