Isaac Albéniz wanted to compose a "Spanish music with a universal accent". It achieves this goal perfectly in its Iberia suite. This masterpiece of late Romanticism, originally published in four "notebooks", finally appears in an Urtext edition that deserves this name, in an engraving and presentation of the highest level, unique to Henle! The three pieces of the first notebook, Evocation, El Puerto and Corpus Christi in Seville, are highly appreciated as their technical requirements are easily overcome. Enjoy them, like Debussy who wrote about them: "We close our eyes and we feel dizzy under the effect of the richness of invention of music!"
