More cheerful, the suite in five movements entitled "Songs of Spain" op. 232, whose movements bear titles such as "Sous le Palmier" or "Córdoba", was composed in the 1890s. It contains all the characteristics of other works for piano by Albéniz: the character piece in miniature form , the very colorful piano writing as well as the relationship with the popular Hispanic song. According to the trade press regarding the publication of the urtext edition and its detailed preface, "Henle's editor, Ullrich Scheideler, treats the inconsistencies and errors of previous generations with great rigor and clarity.
