The joint stay of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand in Mallorca, during the winter of 1838/39, was hardly presented under happy auspices. However, Chopin succeeds in completing his "Preludes", already started in Paris. Today's interpreter is confronted not only with many variations but also with distorting traditions of interpretation. The “Preludes” are the start of the review of all of Chopin's works planned by Henle- the editor takes into account the current state of research and highlights in the text the variants from the sources and those "spent in use". Another novelty also: the volume published includes a short critical device and, at the same time, the Internet offers the detailed version (to download).
