The Little Soldier of Lead

Once upon a time...

A little boy one day receives as a gift a toy soldier who has only one leg. He places it next to a pretty little dancer. The soldier immediately falls in love with it. But a draft drew him out of the window.

Two kids who were passing by pick it up and place it in a small paper boat which they throw into a stream. After facing fear and anguish with great courage in his maritime adventures, the soldier is swallowed by a fish. The fish is caught and the little boy's housekeeper buys it at the market and discovers the soldier in his belly. The child finds his soldier, the soldier finds the dancer, but another child throws the soldier into the fire. The dancer comes to join him there because she loves him too, even though he has not spoken a word with him.
