Since their publication in Urtext edition, the first two volumes of "Iberia" published by Editions G. Henle have acquired a position of strength in the world of pianists. Now here is the third part, in which Albéniz once again unites his knowledge of the European concert repertoire with elements of popular Spanish music. In "El Albaicín", he brings to life the mysterious atmosphere of the gypsy district of Granada and then goes on in "El Polo" on the fiery flamenco sounds. Finally, Albéniz musically illustrates the sparkling atmosphere of an old Jewish quarter in Madrid ("Lavapiés") - in doing so he also disperses here and there, alluding to a barrel organ player, a few dissonant touches of color ._
