Mozart is one of the pioneers of four-handed piano composition. As the famous della Croce family painting (1780/81) shows, Mozart found himself undoubtedly inspired by the collective practice of music with his sister on the harpsichord. Our edition also includes, in addition to all the original sonatas and variations, the works transmitted in the fragmentary state and completed as well as a sonata attributed to Mozart and three compositions with four voices originally written for an organ mechanical or transmitted without indication of instrument. This fundamental revision (formerly HN 92 and 93) is based on a broader base of sources and on recent achievements in Mozart research.
