Goyescas - Los majos enamorados

In the very diverse production of the Spanish composer Enrique Granados, it is above all his music for piano that has remained firmly anchored in the repertoire.
With the Urtext edition of the Goyescas, his most famous piano score, the HENLE editions catalog is enriched by a work of weight.
The singular title of this highly virtuoso suite, composed between 1909 and 1911, refers to the Spanish painter Francisco de Goya, whose paintings were the source of inspiration for Granados.
The Goyescas thus revive Spain from the time of the painter (late eighteenth century), gallant and sensual, but also melancholy and dark.
As the subtitle Los majos enamorados ("Young lovers") indicates, the sequel evokes in six consecutive scenes the life of two young lovers, their joys and their sufferings.
