When it comes to Beethoven's piano music, we usually think of his piano sonatas first. His other compositions for this instrument are nonetheless significant. So it is certainly no coincidence that he published most of his trifles with opus numbers, which in his case testified in principle to the particular importance he attached to a work. These trifles illustrate a lighter facet of this composer often considered a little too quickly as a master of gravity and serious music.
