MOZART WOLFGANG AMADEUS - Duo (violon et alto) si bémol majeur kv 424 MOZART WOLFGANG AMADEUS - Duo (violon et alto) sol majeur kv 423
After his move to Vienna (1781), Mozart only returned once to Salzburg, his hometown, in this case in the company of his young wife Constanze, from the end of July until the end of October 1783. This stay has left few traces and it seems that Mozart hardly composed. Only two delicious duets for violin and viola have emerged during these few months, and, it seems, only out of friendship for the Salzburg composer Michael Haydn (younger brother of the great Joseph Haydn), who, for reasons Acute Health could not respond to an order made to him. Henle's Urtext edition is based on carefully copied autographs. The first edition - whose documentary value is disputed - did not appear until 1792, shortly after the death of Mozart. In addition to a complete score of this admirable page of intimate chamber music, this edition is accompanied, for the comfort of the performers, by separate unfoldable parts.
