This method is for beginner cellists. It includes series of progressive exercises and small pieces all in first position without extensions allowing to work as well the bow, the sound as the left hand and the rightness The exercises are very progressive, so as not to approach too fast the difficulties and from the beginning make the musical sense.
It is followed by a second Cahier du Jeune Violoncelliste which discusses extensions in first position.
