About fifty methods to perform musical analysis in a practical and theoretical approach. With online examples in the form of videos.
It has become common today to combine the practical approach of musical analysis with the more theoretical approach, thus simultaneously addressing composers and musicologists. And for some decades, the instrumentalists have become more and more interested in the art of interpreting while the general public is eager for keys to the understanding of the works.
In this spirit, about fifty analytical methods are synthesized here. Their stories and geographies are very diverse. For each of these methods, their qualities, but also their limits, their main fields of application and the possibility of combining them are detailed.
This book has another essential innovation. While in most of the books devoted to analysis, the reader is offered some measures to illustrate each notion, he goes much further and refers to complete examples on the Internet. These are in the form of synchronized videos with reference musical interpretations. An invitation to implement and deepen all facets of analytical practice.
