Frédéric Monnier (1948-2019) was born two months before his father, Pierre Monnier, met Céline then exiled in Denmark and then became his publisher. Thirty years later, the son, who became a bookseller specialized in musicology, became an editor, in particular Céline, under the brand of La Flûte de Pan, rue de Rome in Paris.
In his brief memories, he mixes the story of the life of the European district, then very animated by the students of the conservatory of the street of Madrid and the many luthiers, with that of his passion for the opera, and his meetings with writers like Louis Nucera, Alphonse Boudard, Pierre Gripari and other happy drilles.
