Born in Ukraine in 1953, the year of Stalin's death, Alexander Brussilovsky finally managed to leave the Soviet Union in 1985, the day before perestroika. Between these dates, its history merges with History.
Gifted little boy, from the age of 4, he became one with his violin. Through a lively and colorful story, we see them growing together in a Soviet Russia whose menu we discover how it hinders, even suppresses all freedom, to move, to act, to think. But that cannot prevent the young student from the prestigious Moscow Conservatory from appropriating the riches of an admirable literary and above all, musical culture.
The excellence of the Russian violin school is evidently embodied for us by professors to whom it is paid a moving tribute.
Become international soloist, Alexandre Brussilvosky chose to live in France. No doubt he knew that by offering a roof for his violin, we also offered the artist the happiness of proving, through the multiple actions he never ceases to undertake, that music has no borders.
